Future images play a crucial role in our lives. When we pursue a plan or goal, we inherently focus on the future. In such situations, we attempt to connect our experiences and knowledge of the past and present with our decisions about the future. Often, we try to predict the nature of the future environment and understand how our decisions might be influenced by it. This paper systematically reviews the literature on studies that have employed the "visioning" method in foresight. Its primary goal is to analyze and identify key dimensions related to vision development in organizations. The study focuses on five key dimensions: 1) analysis of the organization's current state, 2) evaluation of the external environment, 3) identification of the desired future vision, 4) linking the future to the present, and 5) evaluation of the vision. Additionally, it reviews guidelines for vision development proposed in various studies. The findings indicate that in domestic studies, the concept of "vision" has not been adequately connected to the concept of foresight, and therefore, only international studies were analyzed in this research. The paper examines various visioning methods and challenges associated with uncertainty in external environments, emphasizing that combining analytical reasoning with intuitive thinking in vision development can enhance the quality of organizational decision-making.
