Information systems are a set of interconnected elements that collect, analyze, and distribute information while evaluating the achievement of goals. Most organizations operate with traditional functional systems where all tasks are performed manually by humans. To analyze and study the future and monitor and track changes in various policies, organizations require Futures Studies support systems. However, none of the existing Futures Studies systems comprehensively, methodologically, and participatively support a strategic foresight process. Designing and developing a Futures Studies support system, leveraging information and communication technology, and creating a network of experts to provide knowledge-based support and services create conditions for managers to perform their duties with a broader perspective. The methodology of this research is based on document collection and analytical-descriptive analysis. This study addresses the fact that designing and developing an information system involves four categories of actions: 1. Planning; 2. Analysis and Assessment; 3. Design; and 4. Implementation. Among these, the "Planning" phase plays the most crucial role in the process of building a Futures Studies support system.
