National identity is always changing under the influence of various factors and, given its important role in national cohesion and consensus, is always of interest to policymakers. The aim of this research is to identify the indicators of Iranian adolescent national identity with an emphasis on religious and revolutionary identity through a futures-oriented, layered analysis of causes and an exploratory method, and to draw a macro picture of Iranian adolescent national identity from the problem level to the deep levels. The present study is an applied study and a mixture of quantitative and qualitative methods has been used in it. By reviewing documents, evidence and library studies, as well as interviews in the form of two expert panels, data have been collected, coded and categorized. The results of the interviews and qualitative studies were provided to a community of 80 experts, professors and teachers working in the Ministry of Education in the form of a researcher-made questionnaire.The collected data was analyzed using statistical methods and SPSS software. The research findings showed 63 causes, 14 of which are at the litany level, 22 at the causal systems level, 20 at the discourse and worldview level, and finally 7 at the metaphors and myths level, which are considered as factors affecting the national identity of Iranian adolescents
