Abstract

Energy security has garnered significant attention in recent years, emerging as a pivotal component of sustainable development for burgeoning nations. This study employs bibliometric analysis to examine energy security literature spanning from 2014 to 2024, drawing from the comprehensive Elsevier Scopus database.

Our analysis encompasses diverse publication types, languages, and the affiliations of authors and collaborators.

The findings reveal a notable uptick in publications over the years. Notably, there has been a

substantial increase from an average of 489 publications annually during the period 2014-2023 to an average

of 1073 publications in 2023. Regionally, the analysis underscores China’s dominance in institutional energy

security publications. Moreover, a global mapping of energy security collaborations illuminates extensive

international partnerships, with co-authored publications involving diverse institutions. This study not only

offers valuable insights into current research trends but also serves as a benchmark for future scholars, guiding their exploration of new directions in the dynamic realm of energy security.
